Zaf Painting paints fences of every common type across Sydney: timber and paling fences, Colorbond fences, brick and rendered fences, and old wrought iron fences and gates.
Timber and Paling Fence Painting and Staining
Timber palings dry out, grey and split when they are left bare, and old paint on timber tends to flake along the grain. We can finish a timber fence in one of three ways:
- Paint, for a solid colour that matches the house or trims
- Stain, which colours the timber and lets the grain show through
- Oil, which soaks into the timber and gives a natural look
Before we paint or stain a timber fence, we clean off dirt and mould, scrape back flaking paint, and sand the rough and grey timber. Removing all the rough bits is key to having your paling fences look finished

Colorbond Fence Painting
Colorbond fences can fade and chalk over the years. Painting a Colorbond fence lets you refresh a faded colour or change it to suit a new colour scheme. We clean the steel sheets and posts, remove the chalky residue and prime the surface so the new paint grips the metal before we apply the topcoats.
Brick and Rendered Fence Painting
We paint brick and rendered front fences, pillars and letterbox walls.
We wash the masonry, fill fine cracks in rendered fences and prime bare areas before painting.
On rendered fences we use a Dulux membrane-style coating that fills the fine cracks and works like a membrane over the render.

Wrought Iron Fence and Gate Painting
We we prep and paint old wrought iron fences and gates, which you often see on older homes. Rust and flaking paint are the main problems. We remove the loose rust and old paint, prime the bare metal and repaint the fence, working carefully around the scrolls and pickets so every part of the ironwork is covered.
Painting Fences to Match Your Home
You can have the fence painted at the same time as the house, so the fence, walls, garage door and window frames all match.
